Around 6pm usually, I get severe anxiety that all my clothes are ugly and I’ve never looked good in an outfit ever. Objectively, I understand that is untrue, but alas, this is my burden to bear.
Allison Bornstein’s “3 style words” has been floating around for a while but I’ve finally thought about it and I think mine are: classic, preppy, minimal. I think those are good. But let me know if you think of anything better.
A few weeks months ago (this was supposed to get posted much earlier, or at least before October when we’re well into fall), my friend Kiana asked me to do a deep dive on Dakota Johnson’s style. There’s not much to say about it, besides that she is probably the one person suited to Kate Young’s styling and she looks good in most things. But I came across an outfit she wore for her upcoming movie with our good friend Chris Evans and I said yes, please copy/paste. So we’re combining the two, and I’m just going to show you outfits that I’m excited to recreate this season.
Just look how good this is. My navy blazer isn’t oversized like that so I’d switch to black. Mwah mwah perfection. I essentially wear this all the time so idk why I’m so excited for it.
Like her style isn’t anything crazy (or really anything at all) but it’s so good? I recently got a gorgeous navy sweater as an early birthday present that sits very similarly to that, coupled with the perfect white tee to layer underneath, and then relaxed jeans, and my white Nike Cortezes (I think she’s wearing a Cortez here).
She’s just so cool. Effortless, dare I say. I think a lot of my problems would be solved if I was 5’7. All of her jeans fit her really perfectly, I’ve noticed.
I recently identified a gap in my wardrobe: pants that aren’t jeans or work trousers. So I amended that by purchasing the Abercrombie menswear pull-on pant. I’ll let you know when they arrive but I needed a looser pant that wasn’t quite sweat pants. Anyways, imagine those pants with a cream sweater like that and a long coat. Gen Z loves to make fun of millennials for their corporate 2010s going-out-wear but they’re all walking around in fucking trousers on a random Saturday.
See again: she always wears perfect jeans. Also that is a stunning red button down but I do not have a thousand dollars (it’s The Row).
Okay now onto the Taylor inspo.
Obbbbbbviously. The perfect plaid, coupled with that delectable sweater, grounded with a stunning pair of combat boots. Really could not get any better.
I lied it can get better. This is rather hard to recreate imo, because I think it really relies on this very specific cut of the polo dress.
I just love an oversized sweater, miniskirt, and boots. Sue me.
Alternatively, I also adore an oversized blazer over a minidress. Sue me again. The giant honking label makes me laugh every time.
Unfortunately I quite like Kendall Jenner’s street style. I have to stop looking at tall girls for inspiration. Anyways this is such a nothing outfit but I still really like it. This is literally identical to Dakota Johnson’s outfit I’m laughing. But what can I say.
That’s about it.
Also my balding woes came back so I have returned to the side part for the foreseeable future. Also I don’t know why the VSFS pissed me off so bad last night but I’m so annoyed. I didn’t even watch it.
